Tobacco Use Among College Students

Tobacco use among college students is most certainly a problem.   Current studies conclude that approximately 30% of college students are tobacco users.  That is a tremendously high percent! As of January 1, 2015, there are at least 1,514 100% smoke-free campuses. Of these, 1,014  are 100% tobacco-free.  The only way to get college students to stop smoking is to prohibit them from smoking on campus.

Smoking causes lots of unwanted medical problems.  Some of these problems may consist of bronchitis, heart disease, blood cancer, early menopause, and complications with pregnancy.  These are all very horrible things that can happen so smoking at such a very young age is not a great way at all to treat your body and will cause you to age quicker and will increase your chances of attaining these medical conditions.

I see more and more young college students everyday smoking outside their dorms.  Not only is it bad for the people around them, its not good for there health what so ever.  It is not a good sight to see people at such a young age start to destroy their bodies by smoking cigarettes.  The only possible way to decrease tobacco use among college students is to ban smoking on all campuses around the country to ensure that we have tobacco colleges and universities.
